22 Apr 09, Mumbai - A naval sailor Prem Prakash, Petty Officer, posted on board INS Godavari has been reported missing at sea while the ship was on passage from Kochi to Mumbai.

Prem Prakash was last seen on 12 Apr 09 at about 8:00 AM. His absence was noticed about an hour later after which a thorough search was carried out onboard ship and later three ships, helicopter and a Dornier aircraft continued the search around the area in accordance with laid down procedures till PM 15 Apr but could not find the sailor. A thorough search was also carried out along the coast between South Karwar and Goa.

A Board of Inquiry has been ordered. The family of the sailor has been informed.
